Handcrafted with love
About Camill’s Closet

The Beginning: A Passion for Creating
Camill LaShon, CEO and Designer of Camill’s Closet, discovered her love for handcrafting at just five years old. Her mother introduced her to braiding yarn into friendship bracelets, and from that moment, Camill was captivated by the art of creating. She spent hours blending vibrant colors, carefully crafting bracelets to match her outfits, and sharing them with friends and neighbors.

A Mother’s Love, A Family Tradition
By 2010, Camill was a proud mother to three daughters—Kamiyah, Kiara, and Khloe. She encouraged them to embrace creativity, turning their handmade crafts into treasured gifts. What started as personalized fleece blankets for family birthdays soon became a community favorite. The demand grew beyond loved ones, expanding to friends, church members, and even strangers.
From a Divine Calling to a Thriving Business
In 2014, Camill’s journey took a divine turn. A relative gifted her a massive bag of fabric—filled with bold patterns and African prints—but much of it wasn’t suitable for blankets. As a single mother navigating financial struggles, she found herself sitting with this overwhelming bag of fabric, searching for answers.
One day, in a quiet moment, she asked God, “What do you want me to do with this fabric?” The answer came clearly: “Use it for jewelry making! Wrap it around earrings, bracelets, and use it as headwraps.”
Camill followed that calling, creating matching jewelry sets for herself and her daughters, sharing them on Facebook and Instagram. Requests poured in, and by 2016, Camill’s Closet officially became a business.
Building a Brand Rooted in Culture & Community
By 2018, Camill’s passion and dedication allowed her to step away from government assistance—her business was thriving. Orders for unique, handmade jewelry, headwraps, and timeless keepsakes came in from across the U.S. and even overseas. Customers weren’t just buying products; they were becoming part of a growing community, where creativity and culture connected them in deep and meaningful ways.
As demand grew, so did the product line. Customers sought out Camill’s expertise to create silk-lined bonnets, Kente-inspired clothing, and other culturally rich pieces that spoke to the essence of Black beauty, self-love, and heritage.

A Journey Fueled by Love & Vision
Camill’s journey of faith, creativity, and perseverance not only built a business but also led her back to her childhood love, now husband, Isa Jordan. Over the past five years, Isa has been a constant source of support, celebrating milestones, promoting the brand, and even assisting in the creative process. Together, they welcomed two more daughters, Kosmic and Khaleese, making Camill’s passion for family and culture even more deeply woven into her work.

More Than a Brand—A Movement
Today, Camill’s Closet continues to evolve, offering handcrafted jewelry, stylish apparel, and meaningful home decor, all inspired by South Central LA and African heritage. Each piece reflects the values of self-love, spiritual and physical wellness, and the power of visual manifestation—because Camill believes in designing not just products, but a life you truly desire.
